Preparing for Admission - What to bring and what to expect :
Preadmission Expectations
To help ensure a smooth and successful admission, please review the expectations below.
These guidelines will be discussed during scheduling and can be used as you prepare for
admission.
Day of Admission Confirmation
We will call you in the morning of your scheduled admission. You must confirm by 10:00 AM
that you are still arriving. If we do not hear from you by that time, your bed may no longer be
guaranteed.
Arrival Requirements
You must arrive sober and medically stable. If you arrive under the influence or require a higher level of medical care, we may not be able to admit you and may direct you to a medical facility or detox first.
What to Bring
• Valid photo ID and insurance card.
• All current prescribed medications in original pharmacy bottles or packaging, especially
critical medications such as insulin. Bring them with you on the day of admission.
• Up to two pieces of luggage maximum. Pack no more than 7 days of clothing
(comfortable daily wear and activity appropriate clothing).
• Personal toiletries that are unopened and alcohol free.
• No alcohol or alcohol containing products such as mouthwash, hand sanitizer, cologne,
perfume, body spray, or aerosols.
o Pack toiletries separately in an easily accessible bag.
• If you smoke, cigarettes are allowed only if packs are sealed and unopened.
Medication Expectations
• Bringing medications does not mean they will be continued.
• All medications you bring will be secured by staff at admission. Nursing can only
administer medications after a provider has reviewed them and entered an active order,
which may be delayed until the next day depending on your arrival time.
• Controlled substances and certain medications may be adjusted, tapered, or
discontinued based on clinical appropriateness and provider orders.
• You will see a medical provider as soon as possible based on provider availability,
typically within 24 hours. If you arrive later in the day, medication ordering may be
delayed until the next day.
Items Not Permitted
• Linen (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels) or stuffed animals.
• Electronics, including cell phones, laptops, tablets, smart watches, or other personal
electronic devices.
• Any opened cigarette packs.
• Vapes or e-cigarettes.
• Chewing tobacco, dip or snuff, snus, or nicotine pouches.
• Alcohol or alcohol containing products (mouthwash, hand sanitizer, cologne, perfume,
body spray, aerosols).

Facility Guidelines
• Rooms are shared and clients typically have one or more roommates.
• A full search of your person and belongings will be conducted at admission.
• Programming is structured and you are required to attend all scheduled groups and
activities.
• Wellness and recreation offerings (such as yoga, meditation, gym, and other activities)
depend on the weekly schedule and availability and are not guaranteed daily.
• Meals are catered and snacks are provided. Menu varies by day and there may be
limited selections at each meal.
Smoking
If you smoke, bring unopened cigarettes or arrange for someone to drop off unopened
cigarettes during your stay. We do not facilitate cigarette runs.
Phone Calls and Visitation
• There is a three-day acclimation period after admission during which phone calls are not
permitted.
• Landline phones are available daily after 4:15 PM during designated hours.
• Visitation is allowed on Sundays during designated hours and is subject to counselor
approval.
• Clients become eligible for visitation only after 14 days in treatment.
