Partial Hospitalization (PHP – ASAM 2.5)

The practice of recovery — where healing deepens through accountability, connection, and daily living.

In our PHP and Residential in Virginia, clients put insight into motion using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic approaches. Clients explore the “parts” that drive behavior, integrate healthier coping, and begin rebuilding meaningful relationships as they re-engage with life outside of crisis.

Peer recovery living becomes central. Through shared housing and community structure, clients learn accountability, honesty, and real-world recovery skills that prepare them for later independence.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a type of outpatient treatment program that provides treatment to people struggling with addiction. A person entering a PHP requires a higher level of care than an outpatient program provides. People in a PHP receive comprehensive treatment services.

A PHP offers outpatient addiction treatment services such as drug counseling, individual and group therapy. At our center, people attend the program 4 to 5 days a week for 5 hours each day, while still residing at home.

Individuals entering a partial hospitalization program may be using it as a “step-down” service after receiving treatment in an inpatient program.
